Installation of Typo3 Part 4

Ok, I worked out what I had to do to get the Quickstart site going!

I went back to the install tool and under number 2: Database Analyser, I clicked the ‘Compare’ button and then left the default boxes ticked and did ‘Write to Database’ - this did the upgrade to the newer version of T3 and then when I looked at the frontend, the ‘FC Bigfeet’ quickstart site was there. Great, so it wasn’t as hard as all that after all. It was just the overwhelming number of nasty-looking error messages which made me think it had all gone the way of the pear.

Also I found out that there is a readymade installation of T3 in the ubuntu repositories, although it is apparently a bit out of date. Might be worth a go if you don’t mind that and want to save yourself the trouble of installing it (of course you’d still have to create the database etc).

So I think I can safely say that the installation of Typo3 is now finished.
